English Teacher needed at a secondary school in Central Manchester

Teaching Personnel are working with a Secondary School in Longsight who are looking for an English Teacher to join their team in January 2024 on a permanent basis. The working hours for this role are full-time, 8:15am – 3:15pm.

The school have a large cohort of extremely welcoming and friendly staff and the English department are very supportive and looking forward to having an additional member on their team for the next academic year. The location of the school is easy to commute to, as it has local public transport links within a 5-minute walk. Additionally, someone with access to a vehicle would be able to utilise the staff car park.

-          Payscales will be adhered to with applications encouraged from all experience levels: M1 – UPS3

-          No planning or marking responsibilities outside of school working hours

-          Mainly working with KS3 students

The position has various responsibilities and successful applicants should anticipate having a working relationship between the department to discuss lesson structures to ensure the highest of outcomes for KS3 students. Though there are little marking and lesson planning expectations for this role, it is expected that applicants will have some prior experience. Applicants will also need to have a strong grasp of relevant subject material and current curriculum.

Additional requirements:

-          Qualified Teacher Status (English)

-          Experience delivering English lessons or work to KS3 and KS4 students would be ideal

-          Outgoing and confident in ability to build relationships with students

-          Ability to start after Christmas and hit the ground running in January (some level of flexibility)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
