Teaching Personnel are exclusively supporting a Secondary Academy in North Luton to recruit a Qualified English Teacher permanently from September 2025.
- Location: Luton, Bedfordshire
- Start date: September 2025
- Contract: Full-time, Permanent
- Pay: M1 - M6, UPS 1 -3 (proof required)
Are you a skilled, ambitious Teacher of English? This is an exciting opportunity for a English Teacher to make a difference to an evolving school. We are open to applications from Qualified English Teachers or experienced Further Education Teachers seeking their next permanent role.
Job Duties:
- Plan and deliver engaging and informative English Literature and English Languages lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
- Ability to teach A level may be introduced to timetable over time
- Create and implement lesson plans in line with the AQA examination specification
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback on assessments
- Marking and assessment responsibilities included
- Support and guide students to achieve their academic goals in GCSE English
Ideal applicant:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or FE equivalent qualification
- Degree in English or related field
- Proven experience teaching English to at least Key Stage 3 with prior experience teaching at a Secondary School (minimum of 1 year)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate students in this core subject

This is a large Secondary Academy well-established in the Luton, area for providing a successful secondary school with sixth form to over 1200 students. Within the Luton area, this Academy has a good reputation and is proud to be measured as Good in all areas of their latest Ofsted inspection in 2024, noting, "Pupils are proud of their school". The school is in an ideal location for Teachers looking to travel from Bedford, Milton Keynes or Hertfordshire, as it is accessed via the A6 or M1.
