Job description

Job Title: Secondary School English Teacher (KS3 & KS4)
Location: Gloucester
Contract Type: [Full-time / Part-time]
Start Date: October

We are representing a passionate and dedicated English department as we seek an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4. We are looking for someone who can engage students at all ability levels – from lower sets requiring tailored support, to top set pupils eager for challenge and extension.


The Role:

  • Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
  • Confidently deliver lessons to a range of ability groups
  • Plan and prepare engaging and differentiated lessons
  • Mark student work in line with school policy and provide constructive feedback
  • Contribute to the wider life of the English department and the school community
  • Inspire a love of language, reading, and creative expression in every class you take

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be a qualified teacher with QTS (or equivalent)
  • Have experience teaching English at secondary level
  • Be passionate about education and committed to student progress
  • Be confident managing a diverse classroom and adapting to varied learning needs
  • Be organised, reflective, and enthusiastic about curriculum development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
