Salary: MPS/UPS – dependent on experience
Here at Teaching Personnel We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a friendly and supportive secondary school in Erdington. This role is perfect for a teacher who can motivate students, foster a love of reading and writing and help them achieve their full potential.
About the Role:
You will be teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that meet the national curriculum. You’ll be guiding students through classic and contemporary texts, honing their analytical skills and preparing them for their GCSE examinations.
Role Responsibilities:

Delivering high-quality English lessons that inspire and challenge students
-
Planning and preparing engaging schemes of work and resources
-
Teaching both language and literature to mixed-ability classes
-
Assessing, tracking, and reporting on student progress
-
Providing constructive feedback and individual support where needed
-
Creating an inclusive classroom environment where all learners feel valued and encouraged
-
Supporting students with exam preparation and coursework
Role Requirements:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
-
Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 in a UK secondary school
-
Strong subject knowledge in English language and literature
-
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
-
Ability to inspire a passion for English and independent learning

A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
