English Teacher 

Loaction: Erdington

Start Date: September 2025 

Salary: MPS/UPS – dependent on experience


 

Here at Teaching Personnel We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a friendly and supportive secondary school in Erdington. This role is perfect for a teacher who can motivate students, foster a love of reading and writing and help them achieve their full potential.

About the Role: 

You will be teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that meet the national curriculum. You’ll be guiding students through classic and contemporary texts, honing their analytical skills and preparing them for their GCSE examinations.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality English lessons that inspire and challenge students

  • Planning and preparing engaging schemes of work and resources

  • Teaching both language and literature to mixed-ability classes

  • Assessing, tracking, and reporting on student progress

  • Providing constructive feedback and individual support where needed

  • Creating an inclusive classroom environment where all learners feel valued and encouraged

  • Supporting students with exam preparation and coursework

Role Requirements: 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 in a UK secondary school

  • Strong subject knowledge in English language and literature

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • Ability to inspire a passion for English and independent learning

  • A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
