English Teacher- Coventry based secondary school- ASAP start- Full Time

 

The Role:

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a mainstream secondary school based within Coventry (CV6) to appoint an English teacher on a full time basis to join the department ASAP. The English department are renowned for their collaborative and nurturing nature, supporting new teachers coming in, exceptionally well.

The school prides itself on fantastic student outcomes and academic achievement while boasting an inclusive and supportive learning environment.The school has a low turnover of staff and staff are rewarded with flexible timetables and excellent support from SLT.

Hours: Full Time (Mon-Fri, term time only)

Location: Coventry, CV6

Start date: ASAP or September 2026

Rate of Pay: To scale (MPS/UPS)

 

Our ideal applicant will:

- Hold a UK QTS for English

- Have a bachelors degree in English language or literature

- Have recent, relevant experience teaching English within a UK secondary school

- Have fantastic school-based references from previous employers

- Show strong behaviour management skills and the ability to manage a classroom effectively

- Be able to commit to a full time position

- Have the ability to teach up to A-Level English Language/Literature

 

The school are expecting the successful applicant to:

- Manage a classroom of up to 30 students safely and effectively

- Plan and deliver a range of English lessons in accordance with the national curriculum

- Differentiate lessons to suit individual needs within the class

- Regularly assess the pupils' progress and development and provide them with informative feedback

- Work closely with fellow teachers and staff within the department and wider school community to create a high achieving, inclusive environment

- Be able to commit to a long term, full time position
