English Teacher- Coventry Independent School - ASAP Start

 

Salary: MPS/UPS (Weekly pay)

Start date: April 2026

Hours: Full Time (Mon- Fri, 08:30-15:30)

 

An excellent, independent school in the vibrant city of Coventry are seeking to employ a professional, reliable and experienced teacher of English on a full time basis after Easter.

Teachers with ample experience in UK secondary schools and excellent subject based knowledge, are encouraged to apply for this exciting role.

The role itself:

Teaching a core subject such as English holds an incredible importance within a school environment and providing students with the correct tools to succeed through English Language and Literature, is vital for their future successes in whatever path they choose to embark upon.

You will be responsible for the full planning and delivering of English lessons from students aged 11-18. The successful applicant will bring a warm, welcoming and nurturing nature to the role and will push students to be the very best they can be.

 

You will be responsible for:

- planning and delivering engaging and curriculum aliging English lessons to a range of year groups and abilities

- regularly assessing pupils' progress through formative and summative assessment types

- providing timely and insightful feedback for all students to support with their learning and development

- adapting lessons to suit the individual needs within each class

- creating a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment where all pupils have equal opportunity to thrive

- communicating effectively with parents, staff and students alike and through open conversation, establishing trusting, positive working relationships

 

Our ideal applicant will:

- hold a UK QTS for English teaching and have a willingness to engage in ongoing CPD and any required training

- have an excellent track record teaching English within UK based secondary schools

- have fantastic school references

- be a positive influence on those around them

- be committed to the role and available on a full time basis
