Role: Teacher of English
Start: January 2024
Contract: Full time, until Easter or July 2024
Salary: MPR/UPR
Teaching Personnel work in partnership with an 11-18 coeducational secondary school and Sixth Form with an academy status, graded ‘GOOD’, with ‘OUTSTANDING’ Sixth Form during Ofsted’s most recent visit. The school is easily accessible by car or public transport and is located just a 10-minute walk from Chichester train station.
The school are looking to appoint a dynamic teacher of English to join their department from January 2024, on a full-time permanent basis. The department members are all outstanding in their own individual way, with a wide range of experience and teaching styles. The English department has 14 well decorated rooms and a vast collection of multimedia resources from the full canon of English Language and Literature. This would be a full-time timetable made up of predominantly KS3 lessons with some Year 10. This role does require full teaching responsibilities including planning and marking but training and support will be provided.
Ideally you will:
- Be an excellent classroom practitioner with an enjoyment of working with young people
- Have effective classroom management and an ability to demonstrate resilience in working with challenging behaviour
- Have effective time management; able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets
- Be an excellent team player, genuinely committed to working in partnership with others
- Be an excellent communicator to a variety of audiences with good interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
- Be a reflective practitioner committed to developing own teaching and learning strategies
