At Teaching Personnel, we are committed to supporting confident, articulate, and thoughtful students who are passionate about language and literature. We are now seeking enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join the vibrant English team we have in a successful mainstream school in central Bristol.
We are hiring for two types of roles:
1. Qualified English Teacher
We are looking for a talented and dedicated secondary school English teacher with QTS to teach Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5). You’ll plan and deliver engaging lessons, track progress, and contribute to the wider school community.
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A passion for literature, language, and education
- Strong classroom management skills
- Commitment to student progress and wellbeing
2. English Specialist
We also welcome applications from individuals who may not hold QTS but have significant experience teaching English in other contexts — such as adult learning, international education, tutoring, creative writing workshops, or FE/HE settings.
These candidates may be considered for roles such as:
- Academic mentors
- Literacy support tutors
- Cover supervisors
- Enrichment programme leaders
- Progression into teacher training
What we’re looking for:
- A strong background in English (degree level or equivalent)
- Proven experience teaching or facilitating English learning
- Enthusiasm, creativity, and excellent communication skills
- A desire to inspire and support young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
