Are you a passionate English Teacher looking to make a meaningful difference in post-16 education? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and skilled English Teacher to join a vibrant college in Bournemouth, supporting students resitting their GCSE English exams. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated educator to work with young adults and help them achieve the qualifications they need to succeed outside of education.
We are able to consider both full-time and part-time applicants for this position.
About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and accessible English lessons tailored to students retaking their GCSEs.
- Support students in developing core literacy skills and exam techniques to build their confidence and improve outcomes.
- Plan and assess lessons that meet a range of learning needs, including those who may have had barriers to success in school.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and motivated.
- Work closely with the English department and wider college staff to ensure student progress and wellbeing.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and the ongoing development of effective teaching strategies for post-16 learners.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience teaching GCSE English
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent post-16 teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed).
- Understanding of the challenges faced by students retaking exams and strategies to support them.
- Excellent communication skills, with a commitment to building positive and respectful relationships.
- A flexible, patient, and resilient approach to teaching.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
