Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Bargoed, Wales
Contract: Full-time, Cover (January 2026 – July 2026)
Salary: £166.32 per day – Pay to scale
Start Date: January 2026
About the School
Teaching Personnel are working with a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in the Bargoed area, committed to fostering a love of learning and helping every student reach their full potential. The English Department is a dynamic and supportive team that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and high standards of achievement.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and innovative English Teacher to cover from January to July 2026. The successful candidate will inspire students across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons that develop literacy, analytical skills, and a lifelong appreciation for literature.
Ideally, the school would like to offer some cover days in the Autumn term (before Christmas) to ensure a smooth transition and confirm the right fit.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Assess, track, and report on pupil progress
- Contribute to the development of creative schemes of work and resources
- Support and participate in extracurricular activities such as school productions, clubs, and trips
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and continually improve teaching and learning
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in English or a related field
- Proven experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students
- A passion for literature, language, and inspiring young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
