Job description

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated English teacher looking for a rewarding new role? We’re delighted to be supporting a welcoming and inclusive 11–19 school in Bacup, Lancashire, in their search for a talented English specialist to join their team on a long-term, part-time basis.

This opportunity is ideal for a teacher who enjoys inspiring young people, delivering engaging lessons, and helping students develop a lifelong love of English language and literature. You’ll be joining a strong and supportive English department that values creativity, collaboration, and a commitment to excellent teaching and learning.

The Role

  • Position: English Teacher (KS3 & KS4)
  • Start Date: Monday 2nd March 2026
  • Contract: Long-term supply, 0.6 timetable (part-time)
  • Duration: Until the end of the academic year
  • Location: Bacup, Lancashire
  • Days: To be confirmed

You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, following the school’s established schemes of work while bringing your own enthusiasm and ideas to the classroom. Whether you’re newly qualified or an experienced practitioner, your passion for English and ability to engage students of all abilities will make you a great fit for this role.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
  • A genuine passion for literature, language, and helping students achieve their potential
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A commitment to supporting the wider life of the school

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
