A secondary school located in the Altrincham area of Trafford is looking to recruit an English teacher to join their English department in September. The successful English teacher is required to join this outstanding secondary school as a result of an upcoming maternity cover with the current English teacher due to go on their maternity over the summer holiday but given the current situation; has already self isolated for 12 weeks. Whilst she is able to support school remotely, if schools reopen this side of summer, then there is the possibility for the successful English teacher to start with the school sooner. The appointed English teacher will be teaching English (both Language and Literature) to GCSE level.

This is a maternity cover with the passionate teacher of English required for the remainder of the new academic year (2020-2021). Whilst this is a maternity cover, there is the opportunity to progress onto a school based contract following the Autumn term for the remainder of the maternity cover.

The Head of English said of this position:

“We are looking for an effective classroom practitioner to join us in our English department from September/when schools reopen (whichever comes soner). We are looking for a passionate English teacher that can teach our intelligent students in both English Language and English Literature following the AQA syllabus. Teachers of any experience level are encouraged to apply with no preference over an experienced teacher or newly qualified, as long as they are effective in their practise”

  • Pay will be in line with pay scale ranging between: GBP24,373 and GBP40,490 per annum [pro rata]
  • Full time English teaching position taking on a maternity covver
  • Duration for 1 term in the first instance with the opportunity to secure the maternity cover role progressing onto a school based contract
  • Teach AQA English Language and English Literature up to GCSE level

The school is located in the Altrincham area of Trafford making it very easy to access for teachers in the local area. The school can be accessed using the motorway networks of M60 ring road and the M56. This includes those teachers travelling from the Warrington area and even further afield with a number of teachers currently taking this journey to the school. For those based in the more central Manchester area, the metrolink services this school very easily and regularly.
