English Secondary Teacher
Location: Sutton
Salary: £36,413 (M1) - £48,532 (M6) per year + SEN allowance £2679

Teaching personnel have a great opportunity to work with an independent specialist day school in North Cheam, London. The school specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge children and young people.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that supports children and young people's educational and personal growth.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to ensure student success.
  • Participate in school activities, extracurricular programs, and professional development opportunities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A qualification in SEND education is desirable.
  • Experience of working with children with SEND and ASC
  • Experience in teaching English
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching methods.
