English Graduate Teaching Assistant
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time
Salary: £90–£110 per day

Teaching Personnel is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated English Graduate Teaching Assistants to support pupils across secondary schools in Newcastle upon Tyne. The Role
- Provide tailored support to pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
- Help students develop confidence in reading, writing, and communication skills
- Support learners with additional needs, including SEN and SEMH
- Assist with targeted interventions designed to improve attainment and engagement
- Build positive, trusting relationships that promote wellbeing and academic success
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
What We're Looking For

- Holders of a degree in English or a related subject
- Passionate about supporting children and young people
- Excellent communicators with strong interpersonal skills
- Patient, compassionate, and proactive in their approach

- Experienced in working with young people (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
