Graduate Apprentice English Teacher – Secondary School (Blackburn, Lancashire)

Are you a recent English graduate looking to begin your career in education? Teaching Personnel is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Blackburn as an Apprentice Teacher of English from September 2026.

This role is ideal for graduates who are passionate about literature, language, and inspiring young minds—providing a structured pathway into teaching while gaining valuable classroom experience.

The Role

  • Support and gradually lead English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Assist experienced teachers in planning, marking, and classroom delivery
  • Engage and motivate students with a range of abilities and learning needs
  • Work closely with the English department to develop your teaching skills
  • Undertake training and development towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

What We Are Looking For

  • A recent graduate with a degree in English
  • A genuine passion for education and working with young people
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in the classroom
  • A proactive, resilient, and positive attitude
  • Commitment to full-time work from September 2026

Previous experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or volunteering) is highly desirable but not essential.
