Outreach Support Worker – SEMH (Secondary & College Level)
Location: Leyland
Contract: Full-time, 12-week temporary to permanent.
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: Unqualified teacher pay scale, depending on teacher & tuition experience & qualifications

We are currently recruiting for a committed and resilient Outreach Support Worker to join a specialist SEMH provision based in Leyland. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, particularly at the secondary and post-16 (college) level.

About the Role:

  • Supporting learners on a 1:1 basis and in small group sessions.

  • Delivering and supporting with Functional Skills in English and Maths.

  • Working with students who may be unable to access mainstream education.

  • Supporting emotional regulation, confidence-building and personal development.

  • Working both on-site and in community-based settings as part of an outreach model.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs or from vulnerable backgrounds.

  • Confident delivering or supporting with Functional Skills content.

  • Able to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and therapeutic manner.

  • Comfortable working independently and flexibly across different settings.

  • Full UK driving licence preferred (travel may be required).

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who need tailored, trauma-informed support to reach their potential. The position will initially be offered on a 12-week temporary basis, with the view to become permanent for the right candidate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
