Day Rate: £100 - £140 (dependent on experience)

Job Description:

Are you passionate about supporting children in their early development and learning journey? A friendly and inclusive primary school in Bedford, is looking for a caring and adaptable Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

The school is committed to creating a nurturing environment where every child is supported to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. This role involves working flexibly across the Early Years setting, supporting daily routines and learning activities, and offering vital one-to-one and small group support for pupils.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and support Early Years learning activities, including occasional lesson cover.
  • Assist pupils with personal care, hygiene routines, and social or emotional needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the planning, setup, and delivery of age-appropriate activities.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Help prepare classroom resources and maintain engaging learning spaces.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children in Early Years or primary education.
  • Understanding of the EYFS framework and developmental milestones.
  • Comfortable assisting with personal care and implementing pupil support plans.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • A proactive, flexible approach to working in a team environment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and inclusive practice.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
