Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Barking & Dagenham, East London
Contract: Full-Time, ixed-term
Salary: Paid to scale (dependent on experience)
A warm, inclusive, and community-driven primary school in Barking & Dagenham is seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting young children’s learning and development in their crucial foundation stage.
About the Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support the Class Teacher in delivering engaging, play-based learning activities.

Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils, including children with additional needs.

Help create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing learning environment.
-
Assist with observations, assessments, and maintaining EYFS learning journals.
-
Encourage children’s personal, social, and emotional development.
-
Support pupils during outdoor learning, free play, and daily routines.
Person Specification
-
A qualified practitioner who holds NNEB or equivalent.
- Experience of working with SEND particularly ASD.
-
Experience working in an Early Years setting is highly beneficial.
-
Warm, caring, and patient approach when working with young children.
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.

Understanding of safeguarding and commitment to pupil wellbeing.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
