Early Years Learning Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for full time Early Years Assistants to work within our Plymouth based schools.

As an Early Years LA, you will be responsible for supporting the Class Teacher or Nursery manager with the day to day running of the setting. You will support the children to engage in a variety of different learning activities, as well as supervise and observe child-led free play.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. 
  • Previous experience working with children or young people in education settings.
  • Experience managing behaviour and following behaviour strategies.
  • Have a unique and creative approach to their teaching and learning.
  • Have excellent literacy, numeracy & communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Up to date DBS certificate on the update service (or be willing to complete a new one)
  • Relevant education support experience
  • Confidence to take the lead with activities and tailor support for children.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
