Primary School in Launceston - Teacher Maternity Cover

Position: Maternity cover in Reception (EYFS)

Start Date: 4th January 2024

Duration: Full-time, until February half term initially.

Pay: MPS - M1-M6

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Teacher to join a lovely primary school in Launceston, on a full-time basis, until February half term initially. There is the potential for this position to be extended and with the opportunity to become permanent, for the right candidate.  

About the school:

The ethos of the school is to strive to educate their children to realise their aspirations and use their Christian principles to guide them to contribute to society positively. The school is one -form entry and was graded “GOOD” in their most recent. OFSTED.  The school are extremely passionate about ensuring the children receive a broad and balanced curriculum, through a creative approach.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take on full classroom role, delivering engaging and effective lessons for students.
  • Use a variety of strategies that promote independent learning. Create an engaging classroom environment which supports the curriculum inspires learning and results in good outcomes for the children.
  • Be a positive role model for our children and inspire them to be the best they can be.
  • Provide evidence of consistently good to outstanding teaching and learning that inspires and challenges all our children to achieve best outcomes.
  • Have excellent subject knowledge. Make effective use of assistant teachers to support and enhance learning and achievement including adding extra challenge for the most able.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Candidates must have experience of teaching within a primary setting and particular Early Years experience is advantageous.
  • Enthusiastic team player
  • Passionate about ensuring a creative curriculum is delivered.
  • Confident at building positive relationships with members of staff, children, and parents.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
  • Supportive of the aims and ethos of a Church of England School.
  • Strong understanding of National Curriculum and Assessment procedures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
