Position: Early Careers Teacher (Primary) – Full-time, Temporary with Potential for Permanent
Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (with potential for permanent placement)

About the Role

We are excited to be recruiting for enthusiastic and motivated Early Careers Teachers (ECTs) to join primary schools across Shrewsbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for newly qualified teachers to begin their teaching journey in welcoming and supportive school environments, gaining invaluable classroom experience while making a real difference to pupils’ learning and development.

Role Overview

As an Early Careers Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and creative lessons across the primary curriculum. With the support of experienced colleagues and a structured induction programme, you will be able to develop your teaching practice and grow in confidence as you establish your career.

These positions are offered on a full-time, temporary basis with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver inspiring lessons across the primary curriculum.

  • Create a positive, nurturing classroom environment where all children feel supported and motivated to succeed.

  • Assess, track, and provide feedback on pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs.

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

  • Work collaboratively with other staff, sharing ideas and best practice.

  • Engage with your ECT induction programme, taking full advantage of mentoring and professional development opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards QTS.

  • Passion for primary education and a desire to make a positive impact on children’s lives.

  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and resilience.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • A reflective, proactive approach to teaching and professional growth.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
