EAL Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Mainstream School (L6 Area)
Location: Liverpool (L6)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (£90 - £100 per day)
About the Role:
Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EAL Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a vibrant mainstream school in the L6 area of Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils whose first language is not English, helping them to access the curriculum and thrive in their education.
You will work closely with the SEND department, supporting students across various year groups who require additional language support. Your role will involve both one-to-one and small group interventions, as well as in-class support to ensure pupils feel confident and included in their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL) needs.
- Assist in developing students’ English language skills through targeted interventions.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the SEND team to adapt resources and strategies.
- Monitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback to staff and parents where appropriate.
- Promote inclusion and help create a positive, supportive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.
- Understanding of EAL strategies and/or SEND support (training can be provided).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
