Job description

A well-regarded secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher to join their dynamic department from September 2025. The successful candidate will join a team committed to providing high-quality teaching across a broad range of DT disciplines. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across KS3 and KS4 Design and Technology

  • Plan and implement lessons that inspire curiosity and foster independent learning

  • Contribute to curriculum development and the continuous improvement of departmental resources

  • Support students of all abilities to achieve their full potential through differentiated teaching

  • Play an active role in the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and extra-curricular clubs

The school is looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Has experience teaching Design and Technology at secondary level (KS3 & KS4)

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of a range of DT disciplines (e.g. Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics)

  • Is committed to professional development and collaborative working

  • Possesses excellent classroom management skills and a passion for engaging students in practical, hands-on learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
