About the school

We are currently recruiting for a fantastic secondary school, a Catholic community inspired by Gospel values where relationships are rooted in love. They have an outstanding reputation for academic achievement based on a consistent record of excellent examination results, and they are now looking for an experienced educator passionate about teaching Drama and supporting the students and the school in continuing these outstanding results.

The ideal candidate:

  • Will be enthusiastic and energetic.
  • Will have patience and understanding.
  • Will have great communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Will be passionate about drama to ensure the students are involved in lessons and aim for their full potential.
  • Will be very creative and theatrical for class exercises and workshops.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare students for crucial exams.
  • Assign work and homework and mark all work completed by students.
  • Directing, including school plays and productions.
  • Direct final student performances which are assessed by an external examiner for their final exam/their final grade.
  • Organise and take students on theatre trips to support their work and knowledge of theatre.
  • Provide students with necessary feedback, critique, encouragement and support.

Qualifications required:

  • QTS
  • PGCE
  • Previous in school experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
