Drama teacher needed – Hounslow.

We are recruiting for a drama teacher to join a fantastic all girls secondary school based in Hounslow. The school is thriving, high performing and happy. They have strong Catholic ethos and a tradition of outstanding academic outcomes which comes from having exceptionally high expectations.

They believe that every child can prosper in life if challenged and inspired appropriately, they have a strong regard for good behaviour, self-discipline and self-improvement among their students, whatever their background or ability.

Location: Hounslow

Start date: September 2023

Pay rate: £140-£180

Responsibilities:

  • Directing, including school plays and productions.
  • Assign work and homework and mark all work completed by students.
  • Provide students with necessary feedback, critique, encouragement and support.
  • Organise and take students on theatre trips to support their work and knowledge of theatre.
  • Prepare students for crucial exams.
  • Direct final student performances which are assessed by an external examiner for their final exam/their final grade.

The ideal candidate:

  • Will have great communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Will have patience and understanding.
  • Will be very creative for class exercises and workshops.
  • Will be enthusiastic and energetic.
  • Will be passionate about drama to ensure the students are involved in lessons and reach for their full potential.

Qualifications required:

  • QTS
  • PGCE
  • Previous in school experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
