Design Technology Teacher - Resistance Materials

A large Monmouthsire based Secondary school are seeking a dynamic Design Technology (Resistant Materials) Teacher on a full time basis, from September 2019. Due to an expansion within the Design Technology department, there is now a rare opportunity for a Resistant Materials/Engineering Teacher to join a welcoming team.

The Headteacher is seeking a passionate DT Teacher with industry experience who can ignite an enthusiasm within their pupils for pursuing the subject.

  • Full time DT Teacher required, September 2019.
  • Must hold QTS alongside relevant qualification within Resistant materials.
  • Prior experience using machinery and organising practicals is essential alongside a thorough understanding Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements when using tools and or equipment.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS ÂŁ23, 720 - ÂŁ39, 406.

The school has been rated 'Good' by Estyn consistently over the last few years and has since facilitated an environment for the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning amongst all staff.

The incoming Design Technology Teacher will be responsible for;

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons designed to foster a passion for the subject and develop skills pupils require to progress.
  • Organising and setting up equipment and materials for practical lessons.
  • Support the pupils and class teacher in order to safely use equipment and resources.
  • Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in line with monitoring, maintaining resources and equipment ensuring it meets all relevant requirements
  • Operate and order materials, preparation and labelling of equipment and facilitate exhibition work.
