Job Title: Full-Time Design Technology Teacher
Location: Burnley High School, East Lancashire
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: November 2025 (or as soon as possible)

The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will inspire and engage students in the exciting world of design and technology, delivering high-quality lessons that develop practical skills and creative thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Develop and implement schemes of work that meet curriculum requirements and encourage student creativity.

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.

  • Contribute to extra-curricular activities and promote design technology within the wider school community.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and curriculum development.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) with experience in teaching Design Technology.

  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for design and technology education.

  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and teamwork.
