Design and Technology Teacher – Bradford

Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire

Are you a creative and qualified Design & Technology teacher ready to inspire the next generation of makers, engineers, and problem-solvers?

We are seeking a passionate and skilled DT Teacher to join our thriving secondary school in Bradford. You’ll be teaching in a modern, well-equipped department that values innovation, safety, and high standards. ️


Your Role Will Involve:

  • ‍ Delivering engaging, practical lessons across the DT curriculum (Resistant Materials, Product Design, or Engineering specialism desirable).

  • Inspiring pupils to think critically, work creatively, and develop hands-on skills.

  • Planning and assessing in line with the national curriculum.

  • Maintaining a safe, productive learning environment – with proper use of all tools and machinery.

  • Contributing to wider school life, including clubs and curriculum enrichment.


Essential Requirements:

  • ✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it by summer 2025.

  • ️ Up-to-date machine safety training and certification (e.g., for band saws, pillar drills, sanding machines).

  • Experience or strong interest in teaching DT at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable).

  • Strong understanding of workshop health and safety procedures.

  • ️ Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration.
