Teacher of Design Technology and Graphics
Part-Time - September Start
We are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Bournemouth area who are looking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Teacher of Design Technology and Graphics from September. This is an exciting opportunity to join a creative and supportive department, inspiring students to explore their ideas, develop practical skills, and gain confidence in bringing their designs to life.
The role will involve delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across Design Technology and Graphics to students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
You will be confident in delivering the curriculum, integrating both traditional and modern techniques, and making effective use of workshop and studio resources to support learning.
The ability to motivate students of all abilities and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment will be key to success in this position.
Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering creative, challenging and inclusive lessons in Design Technology and Graphics.

Using a range of teaching strategies to engage and inspire learners.

Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them reach their potential.

Encouraging independent thinking, problem-solving and teamwork skills in line with the curriculum.

Collaborating with colleagues to develop schemes of work and contribute to department planning.

Maintaining a safe and organised learning environment, with attention to health and safety procedures in practical areas.
What we are looking for:

A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) or an instructor with strong subject knowledge and relevant teaching experience.

Experience teaching Design Technology and/or Graphics at secondary level.

A passion for creativity and innovation in education.

Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with young people.

Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to lesson planning and delivery.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
