Teacher of Design and Technology – Ponteland

Teaching personnel are looking for a well-qualified, enthusiastic, and committed Teacher of Design and Technology to join one of Teaching Personnel's partnership schools located close to Ponteland. 

The school aims to encourage and enable the students to remain creative, curious, and confident by keeping them connected to the world outside. The students enjoy a rich and personal learning journey which offers them opportunities to give physical shape and visual form to their design concepts, solutions, ideas, and feelings. Through this process students locate themselves as worthwhile young people whose individual qualities are valued and developed. The Design and Technology department reflects the creative industry where design is at the forefront.

Job Salary: £28000 - 43685

Role is to start as soon as possible until Summer 2024

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver curriculum in line with educational standards, incorporating both theoretical knowledge and hands-on projects.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to explore their unique creative abilities.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students grow and improve their design and technological skills.
  • Utilize innovative teaching methods, tools, and resources to enhance the learning experience and keep students engaged.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and encourage cross-curricular connections.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technological advancements, incorporating them into the curriculum to ensure students receive a relevant education.

Person Specification Design & Technology;

  • Outstanding DT Teacher with a proven track record of success
  • Experienced DT Teacher
  • Excellent subject knowledge
  • Commitment to the wider school community
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching KS3 and KS4. KS5 is desirable
