Experienced Education Support Specialist (SEN Focus) – Royston
We are seeking a highly capable and dedicated Education Support Specialist to join the team at a specialist school in Royston. This role involves providing targeted support and leading sessions focused on English and Maths for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities of the Role
Your expertise will be essential in:

Learning Oversight: Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of children's learning and developmental progress.

Behaviour Management Leadership: Confidently implement and oversee individual behaviour support plans to proactively manage and avoid triggers.

Establishing Structure: Maintain and model effective routines and clear expectations both within and outside the learning environment.

Resource and Staff Deployment: Effectively liaise with, and strategically deploy, support staff (Teaching Assistants) to maximise learning outcomes.

Student Wellbeing: Provide support for students' physical needs, which may include assisting with personal care (e.g., toileting, changing, or feeding), where necessary.

Essential Requirements:

Significant Experience supporting children with SEN/SEMH or complex needs in an educational setting.

A kind, caring, and patient demeanour when building trust and working with vulnerable children.

Proven ability to assist in differentiating activities and resources to suit individual student needs.

Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and support colleagues.

Full-time availability.

Permanent UK residence (a strict requirement for application).
Desired Attributes:
-
HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a leadership/supervisory support role is highly advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
