Dance Teacher

Female Dance Teacher required from Easter within a Secondary school that is based in Wigan. This is a full-time teaching role where the successful applicant will be joining a supportive department through and will be offered employment through till the summer.

The school now seek to appoint a passionate female teacher of Dance, or a PE teacher that is comfortable taking Dance lessons from at least Easter 2019 or sooner.

  • Full-time teaching position - Required to start following the Easter holidays
  • Must hold full QTS status specialising in Dance
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS scale (£22,917 - £38,633 per annum
  • Well respected secondary school based in Wigan

This is an excellent opportunity to join a Secondary school where students show a positive attitude to Physical Education as a whole and are enthusiastic in their attitude to the lessons that are being taught by the class teacher. Whilst this is a general rule for the majority of students within the school you must be capable of motivating students who don't share the same enthusiasm as their peers or otherwise struggle to engage with Physical Education lessons.

The school have highlighted that the incoming member of staff will be an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher, who can plan, prepare and carry out engaging lessons. It is also crucial that you are able to organise and attend sporting events and regularly promote an all-round healthy lifestyle within the school.

The school is slightly smaller than the average size with just over 750 pupils on roll. The vast majority of pupils who attend are from a White British background. The numbers of pupils who speak English as an Additional Language is below the national average. It has an excellent reputation within the local area with a strong sense of community felt throughout.
