Job description

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a Dance Teacher to support a high-performing secondary school in the Fareham area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in dance, choreography, and performance to deliver high-quality lessons and inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

In this role, you will plan and deliver engaging dance lessons that develop students’ technique, creativity, and confidence. You will be responsible for preparing resources, organising the studio space, and ensuring lessons run safely and smoothly. You will also contribute to the wider Performing Arts department by supporting showcases, assessments, and extracurricular opportunities where required.

Your responsibilities will include teaching both practical and theory-based dance lessons, monitoring student progress, delivering constructive feedback, and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will maintain high standards of health and safety during practical movement sessions, manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, and complete any necessary planning, marking, and administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and skilled dance practitioner who is confident working with secondary-aged students. You should be organised, creative, and adaptable, with strong communication and classroom management abilities. Experience in a school environment or a background in dance education, performing arts, or choreography is highly desirable. ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply, and full support will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
