We have a rewarding and challenging opportunity for criminology/youth graduates supporting vulnerable children with social and emotional mental health needs at a secondary school in the Merton/Wimbledon and Croydon area. Being part of a school  with 7 schools across South London  this is a highly sought after role with real career prospects for confident applicants.

The school are seeking youth workers and support workers for their Secondary sites, this will include onsite and offiste work. With roles to start in November 2019 for an academic year this is a job for those looking to kick start or develop skills to pursue a career.

As a outreach worker you'll provide support to children and young adults 1:1 and in small groups with mentoring, employment, apprenticeships and outreach programmes. This will be based in a range of settings both within the school and throughout the community.

All staff within the school are required to support students both with their emotional and social needs so having a background in youth work, support work, mental health work or a understanding through studies of criminology, sociology and psychology is highly beneficial. However, those keen and interested in working with youth with these needs are welcome to apply as training is provided.

• Someone confident and interested in supporting youth
• Someone committed to full-time work with an interest in permanent positions within the school
• Previous experience with youth work, criminology graduates – however this is not essential
• MUST live local to Wimbledon, Merton or Croydon as there are accessible transport links
