Cover Teacher

Job description

We are looking for a flexible and dedicated Internal Cover Teacher to support across a SEMH setting with 11 classes. The successful candidate will cover:

  • Short-term absence (teachers off sick or unavailable)

  • PPA (planning, preparation & assessment) time cover

  • Development time (professional & staff development cover)

You will need to transition easily between classes, maintain continuity of learning, behaviour management in line with school policy, and ensure the high standards expected at Marchant-Holliday are upheld.

An independent special school for boys aged 5-13 with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are committed to providing a safe, caring and structured environment where pupils can achieve their full potential—academically, socially, emotionally and physically. 

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent)

  • Prior experience working with SEMH pupils is highly desirable

  • Ability to adapt quickly to different classes, learning needs, and classroom environments

  • Strong behavior management and communication skills

  • Reliable, professional, proactive and able to work independently when required

  • A team player who shares our values of respect, care, integrity and wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
