Cover supervisors needed to work across Grater Manchester in secondary schools to support staffing for absent teachers. The role of a cover supervisor provides first hand experience as you will be taking on the role of a teacher for the day delivering pre set lessons across various subjects, following the schools policies and procedures on safeguarding and behaviour.

The cover supervisor role provides opportunities to work in a wide range of secondary schools from grammar, comprehensive, academies and single sex schools. Graduates considering a career in teaching and looking to gain school based experience before starting a teacher training programme are encouraged to apply. If you are currently looking to working in the areas of youth work, coaching or social work and would like to transfer into the education sector Teaching Personnel can help with this.

If you are looking to work as a cover supervisor across South Manchester Teaching Personnel have opportunities in the authorities of Manchester, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Cheshire East. You will have aces to our CPD training academy where you can choose from the allocated training courses that run throughout the academic year in partnership with a number of educational organisations.

Key features of the cover supervisor role;

  • Teaching experience prior to starting a teacher training programme
  • Weekly pay up to £350 per week dependant on experience
  • Access to various training and development courses
  • Opportunity to work in a variety of secondary schools

Desirable criteria to be a cover supervisor;

  • Previous experience working in a relatable field
  • University Degree or transferable qualifications
  • Suitable work based or educational reference s
  • Eligible for a fully enhanced DBS certificate
