Full time cover supervisor position in Oldham, working in a diverse secondary school alongside cover and teaching staff on a full time basis, from September for the full academic year.

Teaching Personnel are working on behalf of our partner school in Oldham to bolster their own cover team with the appointment of a full time cover supervisor to join them from September.

- Large mixed 11-16 comprehensive secondary with excellent facilities

- Supply position initially with the possibility of securing a permanent contract with the school

- School located in Oldham, bordering Rochdale with good placement to motorways

This position as a cover supervisor will involve providing supervision of students and their set work where their usual teacher is absent and ensuring students stay focused on task. Suitable candidates will have previous experience as a cover supervisor, teaching assistant or working with children/young people in an educational or coaching setting, preferable those aged from 11-16. Applicants must possess the ability to communicate with students, be able to affectively manage behaviour in line with the schools behaviour policy and be able to quickly build rapport and encourage students to complete set work.

If you're an aspiring future teacher, this post as a cover supervisor would be ideal to enhance your application for a PGCE or other teacher training programme due to the close working nature of the post. You will be given regular opportunities to access professional development courses on a number of relevant topics such as behaviour management which will help refine your skillset. The school have said it is not a necessity that applicants are aspiring teachers as long as they have a desire to work in education and facilitate the learning of young people.
