Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Gateshead and the surrounding areas. The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher. You will ensure students remain engaged with their learning while maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of curriculum subjects
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively and promoting engagement
• Supporting students with their learning and responding to queries where appropriate
• Ensuring a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and other school colleagues

What We're Looking For

• Experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring, or similar setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining professional boundaries
• The ability to adapt quickly to different schools and classroom environments
• A positive, proactive, and reliable approach to work
