Cover Supervisor (Secondary)

Location: Gateshead
Pay: £92.63 - £110 per day (paid weekly via PAYE)
Contract Type: Flexible with regular work opportunities
Start Date: October 2026

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a well-established multi-academy trust in Gateshead to recruit reliable and dedicated Cover Supervisors. This opportunity offers regular work across the trust's secondary schools, allowing you to build relationships with staff and students while becoming a valued member of their wider school community.

This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, former teaching assistants, youth workers, sports coaches, or anyone with experience supporting young people.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Supporting students to complete set work and remain focused
  • Building positive relationships with students and staff
  • Maintaining a safe, productive, and inclusive learning environment

What We're Looking For

We are seeking individuals who are:
  • Confident leading groups of secondary-aged students
  • Able to establish positive classroom relationships quickly
  • Adaptable, resilient, and proactive
  • Passionate about supporting young people's learning and development
  • Looking for regular work within a school setting

Previous experience in education is beneficial, but we also welcome applications from candidates with transferable experience working with young people.
