Cover Supervisor – Weymouth (Start ASAP)

A welcoming mainstream secondary school in Weymouth is looking to appoint a full-time Cover Supervisor to start as soon as possible.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a confident and enthusiastic individual to support the smooth running of the school by supervising classes during teacher absences. It is an ideal position for graduates, aspiring teachers, or those with experience in education who are keen to gain further classroom exposure.

Key duties will include:

  • Supervising KS3 and KS4 classes using pre-prepared lesson materials

  • Creating a positive, orderly, and inclusive learning environment

  • Ensuring school behaviour and safeguarding procedures are followed consistently

  • Offering guidance and encouragement to pupils as they complete their work

  • Communicating effectively with teaching and pastoral teams when feedback is required

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with secondary-aged pupils (school-based experience preferred)

  • Be confident managing classroom behaviour and engaging learners

  • Be flexible, professional, and comfortable covering a range of subjects

  • Possess strong communication skills and a supportive approach to students

  • Hold a degree or relevant education experience (beneficial but not essential)

This is a full-time position, based in Weymouth, with an immediate start.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
