Cover Supervisor – Weymouth

Start date: 1st December 2026

A mainstream secondary school in Weymouth is seeking a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable classroom experience and take their first steps towards a career in education.

Role Overview:

  • Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and on task
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Support students in their learning and maintain a positive, productive classroom environment
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and classroom activity

 

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be confident, organised, and able to manage groups of students effectively
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be adaptable and able to respond calmly to new challenges
  • Have a genuine interest in supporting young people and education
  • Ideally have experience working with young people (in schools, youth work, or similar), although this is not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
