Cover Supervisor – Washington Secondary School
Full time, immediate start available.
A well regarded mainstream secondary school in Washington is seeking a reliable and proactive Cover Supervisor to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and thrives in a fast paced school environment.
You'll be responsible for delivering pre set work, maintaining a positive learning atmosphere, and ensuring pupils remain focused and on task during teacher absences across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school offers a supportive leadership team, clear behaviour policies, and a friendly staff culture. This position would particularly suit a graduate considering a future career in teaching or an experienced Cover Supervisor seeking a new challenge.
You need:
- Experience working with secondary aged pupils (desirable)
- Confidence managing classroom behaviour and building rapport quickly
- Ability to follow lesson plans and school procedures effectively
- Flexibility, resilience, and a professional approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
No formal teaching qualification is required, however strong communication skills and a confident presence in the classroom are essential.
