A secondary school is seeking a Cover Supervisor to deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of teaching staff. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced support staff looking to gain hands-on classroom experience.
You don’t need Qualified Teacher Status — confidence, communication skills, and strong behaviour management are key.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll take responsibility for whole classes during short- and long-term teacher absences, ensuring learning continues smoothly.
This role includes:

Supervising classes using pre-set lesson plans

Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining school expectations
-
Supporting pupils to stay on task and complete assigned work

Handling questions and escalating issues when appropriate
-
Following school policies and safeguarding procedures
-
Working across a range of subjects and year groups

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
