Cover Supervisor

Secondary School
£120 per day | Paid weekly

A secondary school is seeking a Cover Supervisor to deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of teaching staff. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced support staff looking to gain hands-on classroom experience.

You don’t need Qualified Teacher Status — confidence, communication skills, and strong behaviour management are key.


The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll take responsibility for whole classes during short- and long-term teacher absences, ensuring learning continues smoothly.

This role includes:

  • Supervising classes using pre-set lesson plans

  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining school expectations

  • Supporting pupils to stay on task and complete assigned work

  • Handling questions and escalating issues when appropriate

  • Following school policies and safeguarding procedures

  • Working across a range of subjects and year groups

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
