Cover Supervisor – Full or Part Time

Location: Hampshire
Hours: 31.25 per week (8:30am – 3:15pm, Monday to Friday)
Contract: Long‑term (minimum 12 months) | Term Time + INSET Days
Start Date: As soon as possible

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a successful and highly regarded secondary school to recruit a Cover Supervisor for a long‑term position. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable classroom experience within a supportive and well‑resourced school environment.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising whole classes during the short‑term absence of teaching staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising classes using pre‑prepared lesson materials
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Creating a calm, safe and purposeful learning environment
  • Supporting students to remain engaged and on task
  • Acting as a consistent and professional presence in the classroom

This position is particularly well suited to those considering a future career in teaching and offers a strong foundation of classroom experience.

Who We’re Looking For

This role would suit someone who:

  • Is confident, organised and adaptable in a classroom setting
  • Can build positive relationships with young people
  • Is keen to uphold high expectations for behaviour and learning
  • Has integrity, enthusiasm and a proactive approach
  • Is exploring a future career in education (though this is not essential)

Previous experience working with children or in a school setting is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
