Teaching Personnel are working closely with a Good-rated, community-rooted free school in the Thornaby area to recruit a Cover Supervisor from September, with long-term potential for the right candidate. This role is perfect for graduates, aspiring teachers, or anyone with experience working with young people.

The Role: You will supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher - delivering pre-prepared lessons, managing behaviour in line with school policies, supporting students with their work, and feeding back to teaching staff. No formal teaching qualification is required, just confidence in the classroom and the ability to build rapport with students.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with young people in any capacity (schools, tutoring, coaching, youth work)
  • Strong classroom presence and calm, professional approach under pressure
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to students' learning and wellbeing
  • Understanding of SEND needs (ASD, ADHD, SEMH) is advantageous
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
