Cover Supervisor – Northamptonshire Secondary Schools
Start Date: September 2026

Are you a recent graduate considering a career in teaching? Looking to gain valuable classroom experience before starting teacher training? We are recruiting enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Northamptonshire from September 2026.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, manage classroom behaviour, and support students in maintaining a positive learning environment. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your classroom management skills, build confidence, and gain first-hand experience in secondary education.

No previous teaching experience is required. We provide full training and ongoing support, making this an ideal role for graduates who are passionate about education and eager to explore a future in teaching.

The role includes:

  • Supervising classes across a range of secondary school subjects.
  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials.
  • Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring students remain engaged.
  • Working in a variety of welcoming secondary schools throughout Northamptonshire.
  • Flexible opportunities with both day-to-day and longer-term assignments available

We're looking for candidates who:Hold a degree (or are due to graduate before September 2026).

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Are confident, organised, and adaptable.

Have a genuine interest in working with young people and education.

Are committed to maintaining high standards of professionalism.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
