Are you looking for a flexible role within specialist education provisions?
Teaching Personnel are looking for cover teachers to work part-time in a flexible role within specialist provisions in Manchester. The schools will be secondary aged students, but will mostly work at levels below expected for their age group.
Each school will have different requirements for the topics and the length of time that the cover is required, so you should expect to cover various core subjects and to adapt the lessons where needed to the needs of the students. As this is a cover position, you will not be expected to plan lessons, but you will need some knowledge of a variety of topics to ensure that you can help if any of the students have questions about the work.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons that cater to the needs of individuals
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment in the classes that you are covering in
- Work with other members of staff to provide feedback and learn more about the needs of the students you are working with
- Teach a variety of core subjects to ensure the students do not have gaps in their learning
- Guide support staff in the class where needed
- Provide comprehensive feedback for each day for the teacher you are covering for and for senior members of staff to pass over to parents and carers
Requirements
- QTS or extensive experience in specialist provisions
- Flexibility in availability and the topics that you are able to deliver
- A passion for working with young people and providing good support to them, even if you are only teaching them for a short period of time
- Excellent classroom management skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
