We are currently recruiting for an experienced Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming secondary school in the Lancaster area from November 2026.

This is a full-time role, ideal for someone who is confident managing a classroom, engaging secondary-aged pupils and ensuring learning continues effectively in the absence of the class teacher.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

• Supervising classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of teaching staff
• Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring pupils remain focused on their learning
• Managing classroom behaviour confidently and consistently
• Supporting pupils with their work where appropriate
• Following the school's behaviour and safeguarding policies
• Providing feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil engagement and progress
• Building positive professional relationships with pupils and staff
• Supporting the wider school where required

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will:

✅ Have previous Cover Supervisor experience within a secondary school, which is essential
✅ Be confident managing groups of secondary-aged pupils
✅ Have strong behaviour management and communication skills
✅ Be adaptable and comfortable covering a range of subject areas
✅ Be reliable, professional and enthusiastic
✅ Have a genuine interest in supporting young people's education and development
