Cover Supervisor
Job description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a well-established and inclusive secondary school in Harrow. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education, enjoy working with young people, and are seeking to gain valuable classroom experience within a supportive and dynamic school environment.
The school prides itself on fostering a culture of respect, ambition and achievement. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences, ensuring that students remain focused, engaged and supported throughout each lesson.
Responsibilities:
- 
Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring lessons are delivered according to set plans. 
- 
Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a calm and productive learning environment. 
- 
Support pupils in completing assigned work and promote positive engagement in all activities. 
- 
Report on pupil progress and behaviour to relevant teaching staff. 
- 
Assist with general school duties when required, contributing to the wider school community. 
Requirements:
- 
Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to engage and motivate students. 
- 
Previous experience working with young people in a school or similar setting is desirable but not essential. 
- 
A calm, confident and professional manner, with the ability to handle challenging situations positively. 
- 
Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; degree or A-Level qualifications advantageous. 
- 
A genuine passion for education and helping young people reach their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
