About the Role
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs?
We are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a highly supportive SEN school in Weymouth. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in maintaining learning continuity and creating an inclusive, engaging classroom environment.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and activities across KS1–KS4 in the absence of the class teacher
- Support students with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties
- Promote positive behaviour and manage classroom dynamics using school policies
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners
- Build strong relationships with pupils, fostering confidence and independence

This specialist SEN school provides education for pupils 5-16 years old with diverse needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, social, emotional and mental health challenges, and sensory or physical needs. The school prides itself on creating a nurturing environment where every child is valued and supported to reach their full potential.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people in education, care, or youth settings
- Strong classroom management skills and a calm, positive approach
- Understanding of SEN support strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Full Time, Part Time and Flexible applicants will be considered for this role
Desirable:
- Previous experience in SEN or alternative provision settings
- Knowledge of strategies such as Zones of Regulation, visual supports, or Team Teach training

Working Hours
Monday – Friday | 08:30 – 16:30 | Term-time only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
